Threads of Her Story: Black Women in Art

  • On view between February 14 and February 21, 2025

  • Robert C. Turner Gallery, School of Art and Design, Alfred University

Threads of Her Story: Black Women in Art is a celebration of the voices, visions, and resilience of Black female artists at Alfred University. This exhibition I've curated brings together diverse practices, including painting, sculpture, textiles, ceramics, and digital media to honor the rich narratives and cultural expressions these artists embody. In a world where Blackness is often politicized, this show creates a space for unfiltered representation, where each work speaks boldly and unapologetically. Threads of Her Story is more than an exhibition, it is a recognition of the power, creativity, and presence of Black women in the art world today
