Diabou Hubbard is a Senegalese artist based in New York who dedicates her practice to exploring the cultural diversity of the African continent, more specifically Senegalese culture. Her unique use of oil and acrylic paint, as well as her vibrant textile art, presents a complex, juxtaposed image of African traditionalism and modernity. Hubbard's artwork is driven by her relentless search for identity, and her portrait paintings are a reflection of the complexities of the African experience.
With her art, Hubbard aims to bring a voice to the African community and explore the possibilities of a shared global experience.
